Just added this to my collection and wanted to show and tell! :) Bought it at a gun show in Gray TN today.

Very cool. My next gun after a .22 was going to be a M&P 9mm compact, but after seeing all these posts about the RIA Compact, I may have to get one of those instead.

It's black with a light wood grips. I'm looking at Pearce modular checkered grips with finger grooves. It's bad lighting and bad photgaphy, but thank you for you comments. Has anyone used the Pearce grips? If so, what do you think of them?

I thought the same thing, but black and light wood still looks good.

With 1911's, I've always felt the Officer's/Compact size seemed more balanced that a Govt/Full size. After shooting a compact and then picking up a full size it seems like a hand cannon.

I think the RIA 1911s are just what you need in an inexpensive .45 ACP and reliable pistol for personal protection.
