I'm still fuzzy on the legal posting...I assume it has to be like the normal postings referencing certain statutes.

For example, would this posting hold any validity?

Don't think that is a legal sign, is not what the AG opinion stated, something like substantially similar language, the "Pursuant to TN....." part.

HOWEVER, at this time I would not want to be the test case, nor would I want to be crucified with the media and the da's office, whether you were convicted or not.

Honestly, I think there is a very small percentage of the total TN population that gives a hoot either way. The 250K+ HCP holders, then about that same number of people who just hate guns. the rest of the state IMO doesn't give a rats butt when the see somebody carrying a gun in a holster in public. They most likely just think its a cop and go about their business. I am not making a case for OC, I am just saying that the majority of people really don't care either way.

Something people often times do not consider, is we 250K have families, who if even aren't HCP holders, still support us. Add that to the folks who dont give

a :poop:....

............

BAM... The majority DO NOT HAVE ISSUES WITH OUR LEGAL CARRY!!

The problem is a few thousand are loudmouth AHats. They are heard while we the majority sit silently on our hands.

This also accounts for the events happening in our country as well- we listen to the few and watch our way of life, and the way of life our ancestors fought and died for, SLIP AWAY. Another gripe all together.:)

Sorry, I get a little beside myself sometimes.:D

I went to Logan's Roadhouse in Jackson tonight. No posting.

Asked to talk with the manager after the meal, Said, "I guess you are aware, if you watch TV or read the paper, of the new law that went into effect Tuesday?" He said, "No." Can you believe it?!

I almost didn't know what to say next....I was all ready for him to say Yes...then I was going to thank them for not posting etc.... but then I thought well...maybe they haven't posted because they didn't know.

No granted the manager on duty at 6:00pm on a Thursday is not the decision making guy, but he said it had never been discussed that he knew of.

So I said that I hope they don't post in the future and so on. Found out he has a HCP as well and we had a good talk.

Gave him TGO url and hopefully he'll join here...and be able to stay more up to date...:hat:

IMO it's not legal, but I do think it is close enough for a LEO and Judge....especially right now.

Yea, I ate there today (unarmed), mainly due to the party I was with. However, I have sent the manager a lengthy e-mail and detailing my roughly $5000/year in spending there between me and co-workers. I am awaiting a response.

Prince Deli and Sports Bar on Lovell Rd in Knoxville has a gun inside a circle-slash sign taped to their front door. I'm not a patron, but was passing by yesterday and could see the sign from Lovell.

BAR-B-CUTIE

Donelson Pike

501 Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN

Catering Specialist Contact: Lynn - 834-6556

They took down their Posting! Make sure you contact them and thank them and go spend $$$ there!

I work in Donelson so I went to my favorite "lunch spot" today, DARFONS. It was posted "no guns" so I disarmed, went in and cashed in my "rewards points card". I had over 1,000 points (a dollar per point) I asked to cash it in and they asked why I was not eating there today. I told them that it was due to their posting. They thought that I was kidding. I grabbed my gift cards that I earned with their rewards card and left. My company rents a room from them for our annual Christmas parties there every year... That will no longer be the case. I will hand their gift cards out to the homless family(man, lady, and dog) that I see in Donelson on my way to work.

I went around the corner and ate at Bar-B- Cuttie. I spoke to the manager on duty as I was leaving. I thanked her for them removing their "no guns" posting. I told her that she will be getting more of my lunch money in the future and that my company would continue to use their catering service for our in-house meetings.

Short version:

Darfons Restaurant & Lounge

Kevin it was the lady that waits on me at least 3 times a week. Once she knew that I was not kidding I saw her tell the Manager/Owner (Sam) that knows me by name. He had a rut ro look on his face but I didnt talk to him on my way out. I didnt want to turn it into a "scene".

:google: Good to know Mike and good that you didn't turn it into an ugly scene.

I think the reaction by the manager is big enough to know not only has he lost along time customer but the business that you bring with you (i.e. the Christmas party). To the local estalishments that post this would be about the only way we can get our point across by losing business/ long-time customers.

Turkey Creek in Knoxville

As I indicated in an earlier post, my wife and I walked in and then out of this restaurant after seeing the posting. I called this evening and spoke with Roberto the manager and explained that our family would no longer be frequenting his establishment. He indicated that this was a corporate policy that they had enacted for the safety of employees and patrons. We had a short discussion and I explained the naivete and fallacy of the policy to no avail. Obviously, this establishment doesn't need our business.

That's too bad. I really like that restaurant.

Whatchu talkin bout, Willis?

The Knoxville area July 14th celebration dinner was held at Hooters, which as it turned out was posted, albeit a little too discretely from what I hear.
