Finnaly! An interview!

Hey guys!

Fingers crossed, I finally scored an interview.

AND...it's 40 miles away. SO, I REALLY couldn't have gone if not for the recent help of my TGO friends with my car!

Even if I don't get this, at least it's a start: Places are FINALLY strarting to call me back. Things are looking up.

I know being in such a situation can be very scary.

As a single father who's not received one ounce of government/family assistance (not that I'm looking for it) or child support (that would be a great help), I've been in a simialr situation. Luckily, I have a few things I can sell if I get desperate enough, but it's still a very uneasy feeling.

Fact is, most, if not all, TGO members could be in the very same situation when they least expect it. No matter how much money you have today, something crazy can happen, and it can all be gone tomorrow.

It's nice to see so many members who were willing and able to help. It really says alot about this group of folks.

Isn't THAT the truth. If you had told me 6 months ago I'd be as broke as quickly as it happened after losing my job, I'd have said you were crazy, but alot of crap happened at once and drained everything, including the toys that had resale value.

Sure does. It was amazing, humbling so much appreciated I don't know if I could ever express it properly.

I just got back from the interview, and......I have no idea how it went.

I can usually read people pretty well, but either this lady DID decide she already liked me, and the rest is a formality, or DIDN'T like me and was going through the motions. IDK.

On the plus side, I heard this from outside the room I was to be interviewed:

Random girl 1: "Well, he's cute. That's a plus!"

Random girl 2: "Yeah, he was really tall, and smelled good too!"

Interviewer: I'm not hiring a man for y'all!

So, if THEY have any input, I guess I may be ok!

We'll see. Said they'd be in touch soon.

Meanwhile, I have a lead on a restaurant job to follow up this afternoon. Not a great job, but income just the same!

Well, I did wonder why they had dogs and nifty white canes!

BTW, 2nd job lead today was depressing. Applicants 20 deep waiting to apply.

Kind of depressing.

BUT, at least the calls are starting to come. That's gotta mean I'll get something soon!
