Sent my Colt home today....

I got my FedEx call tag on Monday, so I went to FedEx today to ship my New Agent off to Hartford, CT for it's recall. I said to the lady, "you know it's a firearm?" and she said "no I didn't and don't want to know."

Only thing that was a little disconcerting was when I asked if there was insurance on it, she checked and said "It has a stated value of $100". Since the call ticket was furnished, I couldn't add any additional insurance on it.

I wonder if Colt will replace it if it gets lost?

I'm sure they will, but that would worry me too at first, seeing that.

Hope it gets taken care of and returned in a timely manner. Let us know when you get it back.

That's really crazy about the insurance. What was this recall for, again? What was the problem?

Metal used for thumb safety and the guide rod stop was of incorrect hardness.

The Defender just needed the new guide rod, so they'd ship that. But the New Agent along with a few other models needed to have the thumb safety replaced and Colt insisted on doing it in-house. They even paid for the shipping. My New Agent needed both parts.

Got the Colt back from the spa today. One week, door to door. That's customer service!

Looks good as new, no scratches or anything. Just a new tiny stamping on the trigger guard to show it's had the recall done.

Good job, Colt!
