My New 1911

I know this is blasphemy, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I have never been a huge 1911 fan. Great guns and all, but they never really appealed to me. This gun, however, is a 1911 I would own. Very nice gun. I don't know who this Derek guy is, but I want to. Can you tell a newbie a little more info?

That is a fine looking pistol, to say the very least. The 1911 is my favorite pistol, I carry and compete with them and enjoy them at the range, but I don't own one any where near as pretty as that one!

Derek is one of the 5 gunsmith in the USA that I would want to build me a competition gun. His work is impeccable. He is in Florida and is one heck of a nice guy and an amazingly talented shooter. I detail stripped the gun last night and was amazed at the attention to detail with every single part. I'm very impressed with him. Here is his website...

I'm sure there are more.........but I have had my hands on and shot all the above gunmakers guns, and they were all fantastic.

I have bought a couple of stock guns through Brazos. If their gunsmithing is half as good as their customer service then they must make fine pistols. If I manage to talk myself into a limited gun theirs will be high on the possible list.
