A Ron Paul/Sarah Palin third party ticket might be at least interesting.

Unfortunately, Ron Paul comes off as the national version of John Jay Hooker.

The problem comes in the fact that anybody who desires to be in high political office has some desire to be 'in power'. Finding somebody who has excellent ideas, but really just wants to get in, get the job done and get out is the real trick.

The love of Ron Paul is no different than that of BHO. The man could not stay awake enough to pay attention during a debate. That is not the guy I want signing treaties with other govts or signing bills into place. He has some good ideas on domistic policy but could not be more wrong on forign policy.

Again, that's how we ended up with Clinton. :screwy:

Which part? Voting when your party is in power or voting for someone who tried to out nutjob the other guy?

Third party politics to this point has been all about Conservatives voting for someone that is more conservative than the Republican canidate. If a third party is going to succeed they are going to have to peel away voters that are conservative but vote Democrat. Guys and Gals like Perot, Paul and Palin are simply not viable as they are too polarizing. Plus, the conservative Democrats are not pissed off enough at their own party to actually think about voting third party. That may change over the next 8 years but it remains to be seen.
