I just got a 442 and it came with a Dom Hume pocket holster. It works pretty good in khakis but in my jeans it rides to high. I think it is to wide towards the bottom.

Do you have a recommedation on another pocket holster for blue jeans.

I always had good look with the Desantsis Nemesis pocket holster & you can get them at the outpost for 18.99 which is 1 of the vendors on the forum.

Ever tried an AHolster?

I have one en route that I bought here from BrandonTN. Field report to follow. Bought it based solely on David's recommendation, so if it sucks, I'll hold him personally responsible ;)

I've had the Desantis Nemesis for 10 years or so. It's ok, but almost 'binds' too much in my jeans. It's competing for room down there, you know...

(...with my keys and pocket knife).

What!?

I did a search for pocket holsters and it came back with a bunch of OWB, IWB an infinity of different holsters. So I started another thread

Yeah fine but did you search the keyword I gave? I have posted a pretty good review of that holster elsewhere and it might help you.

I work in my jeans and they get messed up quickly so I buy cheap ones. Members mark at sams for $12 and they have shallow pockets I guess. When I use the holster the grip almost sticks out the pocket.

Im not complaining Rightwinger Im still very happy with our deal.

Two points from me on this.

One, go buy Diamond Gusset (Diamond Gusset Jeans | Official Web Store) jeans. They're the only one's I'll buy anymore. Unbeatably comfortable, tough as nails, and 100% American made, from the cotton to the store. I'm hard on jeans, and these things have outlasted my last three pair of Wranglers. Well worth the price.

Two, I love my AHolster. I bought it based on TGO David's review, and I love it. Took about two weeks to arrive, and just disappears in a pocket. I'd definitely reccomend it.

Even though I'm all leather for IWB/OWB, I agree that Kydex is great way to go for pocket carry - the thinner the better.

Kydex is fine for pocket carry as long as the holster fits your leg curvature exactly. Thin leather is still a better choice in pocket holsters. IWB/OWB it becomes a matter of the job needing to be done.

Hey guys, interesting thread. Pocket carr has always been near and dear to my heart.

I built my first pocket holster as a young police officer over 30 years ago. It didn't take me long to figuire out that pocket carrying a J-frame revolver with over sized grips didn't work out real well in tight fitting jeans. Now at 290 something pounds, tight fitting jeans still don't work out well for me. Among all the custom holsters I build, I still build quite a few pocket holsters. The key to pocket carry is the right sized pockets and cut of trousers. I've learned to select my trousers by the size of the pockets. Myself, I prefer relaxed fit Wranglers, Levis and pleated dockers type trousers. I 'm still a police officer and still pocket carry a J Frame day in and day out.

I carry a 442 in a Desantis, but you have to have loose fitting jeans with deep pockets. I have a few pair of Arizona boot cut jeans from JC Penny. I know they won't fit everyone, but they work for me. Pocket carry also works in my shorts. The key is deep pockets.
