33. In supporting the new law, legislative proponents and the NRA cited

examples to demonstrate the new law would expressly allow gun permit holders to

carry their guns into bars and engage in vigalante shooting at drinking establishments:

• Nashville bar shooting fatality involving the death of Benjamin Goeser.

First off ...it stops short, in my opinion in calling her specifically one, however it is using her situation as an example where self defense would be classified as "vigilantism". It's only accomplishing in establishing the filer's own ignorance in the difference between self defense and vigilantism, or unjustified shootings.

Second off ...they spelled vigilante wrong. (Unless that is some weird legal form of spelling.)

This is being filed only to help keep it in the papers. That is all. The media needs something to keep this issue alive until July 14th. If July 14th comes and goes with no problems their argument will get weaker by the day. (And I suspect they know it.) Hence the urgency in getting restaurants to put up signs. Then they will say that if they hadn't had "X" number of signs up there would have been "blood in the streets!" or some other nonsense.

How can a lawsuit filed in the Chancery court of Davidson county affect the entire state?

These people are grasping at straws...

The people who filed this lawsuit are IDIOTS....they actually think that restricting law abiding gun owners will stop criminals from entering restaurants that serve alcohol....the level of stupidity that some people demonstrate simply amazes me...

Wow. Now I am a Vigilante just because I wanted the ability to protect my husband. I guess all of these people who brought forth this lawsuit would just sit there if someone broke in their house to rape their children and force them to watch. I guess by fighting back that would be considered "Vigilante" behavior and therefore they would not protect their children but rather sit there while being held at gunpoint and do NOTHING. I mean afterall.....self defense is Vigilante behavior and that is just WRONG right? This is ridiculous.

I was outraged when I saw that, Nikki. Talk about taking the cheapest of shots. Sadly, there are no depths too low for a liberal to sink to once they get on a roll.

And he's a lawyer, to boot!

Doesn't get much lower than a liberal lawyer...

Funny:

Item 47 on page 18 says..

"It is the law and public policy of the State of Tennessee that fighting,

drunkenness, breaches of the peace and property used in breaches of the peace

constitute public nuisances. See T.C.A. § 29-3-101(a)(2)"

In the opening statement 5 page 4, it is said...

No state, by statute or regulation, expressly allows firearms in bars.

Because bars, saloons, nightclubs and restaurants with bar areas are notorious for

fights, assaults and breaches of the peace, carrying loaded guns is expressly prohibited in bars, nightclubs or bar areas serving alcohol in 24 states.

One should deduce that bars, saloons, nightclubs and restaurants are notorious for violating the law and should be labeled as public nuisances.

It really is amazing, isn't it? They had their lawyers write this stuff...I wonder if the plaintiffs even read the filing before having it filed?

I wonder if the anonymous plaintiffs really exist?

I addressed the verbage this "coalition" chose to use in their lawsuit directly with one of the attorney's that filed it today on the Bob Pope Radio Show. I was there and confronted him face to face live on the radio. Self Defense is NOT vigilante behavior. It simply means you wish to survive and you are acting in self defense because you "have to". I do not want to go around Nashville acting like an officer....I am not one and don't ever plan on being one. However, I have the "right" to protect myself and my family and to use the word "vigilante" is extremely irresponsible and cruel and just down right "WRONG". I suppose these people that filed this lawsuit would simply just "sit there" and allow a gunman to break in their home and rape their children and torture their family members while they do NOTHING. I mean afterall....according to them, self defense is vigilante behavior and well.......we can't have that now can we. DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE HOW RIDICULOUS THIS IS????

To ALOT of your left wing liberal nut jobs out there, life is supposed to imitate Hollywood in their eyes. We live in a society of sheep, willing to lay down and be a victim and to let whomever wishes to do us or our families harm to do so. I think you could educate, and educate, and educate these people and it still wouldn't do one damn bit of good. I REFUSE to be a victim.

You're a better person than I Nikki. They would have broken their dump button on my 4 letter spewing at these idiots.

I have lost any and all patience with Dead and his ilk. They are liars, publicity whores and socialists of the lowest order. They use their "friends" in the local propangade rag to help push their misinformation on the sheeple who drink it up like good little citizens. I'm sick and damn tired of the lefties pissing on my leg and calling it sunshine.
