Couple of years ago I bought 4+ burner Char-Broil gas grill, big enough to grill a cow. Too many parts to remove for a good cleaning - much too big for just two people. I just sold it (lost my shirt on the deal) and now I'm looking for something smaller and simpler. In my search I came across this "Holland" grill (link bellow), couldn't be simpler - any one has one of these, and what do you think about it? Thanks for your comments.

It looks a little small, even for two people.

I prefer a grill with at least two racks. Mine has three. The other racks make it nice to stash food that is already completed why you are finishing up the main course or the garlic bread.

My cousin in Winchester has one. Awsome grill. You can't go wrong. We've grubbed out pleanty of times on his back deck 'grillin' and chillin'". Seriously, you almost can't mess any meal up with a Holland. Never burned anything we've cooked.

I ended up buying an updated version of the same Char-Broil Commercial Series model I sold. This unit, while not the best, cost $216 less than the Holland Grill. The main issues I had with my two-year old grill I sold were corrected in this new model: The cast iron grate, as well as the burner cover plates are now ceramic coated; and the burners are now being held by stainless steel carter pins rather than plain screws which rust and are difficult or impossible to remove after couple of years of use. In addition, this unit is rated at 50,000 BTU, while the Holland Grill is 19,500. Properly cared for it should last me for about three years without having to replace the burners, which are thin stainless steel. Thanks every one for your input.

We have a Kenmore Grill. I dunno about BTU's or anything like that. I keep it in the garage when not in use. So it has never been in foul weather. I think it will last for as long as I care to keep it.

The feature we bought it for is a big fail though. It had lights inside the hood. The handle holds batteries and has a little switch. It worked great for a while. But soon the heat or whatever got to the lights and they no longer work. But when the lights worked they were AWESOME. Really helped a lot with cooking after the sunsets.

I hope you enjoy your new grill. Ours also has the ceramic cooking surface. It is nice. Makes a lot of difference.

If you EVER need to buy a new grill, buy a VERMONT CASTINGS grill....I got mine for my birthday 5 years ago....It is still working great and only needs a cleaning here and there...Vermont Castings makes Jenn-Air grills...but the Vermont Castings version is MUCH cheaper...I WILL buy another one...IF this one ever gives out...trust me guys......I grill out atleat once a week...sometimes 3 or 4 times a week, even in the winter....Vermont Castings is the best grill ever made....

I like it, combination gas grill, charcoal grill and smoker all rolled into one.

That thing has it going on.

How many racks under the hoods?

I've got that exact same grill. Really great.

My only complaint is with the handles on the main grill. I'd prefer if they were made like the one on the smoker box.

nice,

gotta have the extra rack.

I also like the condiment bin. A spray bottle with water is a must, and you got the place to keep it. Of course a bottle or two of beer works as a good water substitute.

Buy a vermont castings and no spray bottle is EVER needed...no flareups....

flareups help add flavor, just need some liquid to help control it.

Never seen a Vermont Casting grill, but then I have nevr seen a grill that does not flame up once in a while.

i hate to argue with you Mike...but..flareups don't help flavor...unless you like the flavor of burnt charcoal.....and just because you havent heard of vermont castings doesnt mean they don't exist...and it does NOT flare up...

I've been grillin for a long time, and I am not trying to be an ass, I just have a LOT of experience in this area.
