Cleveland Rifle Club Monthly matches

The Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club, in Cleveland TN has several matches each month, the second Sat. at 9:00 am is a non sanctioned 3-Gun match, third Sat. at 10:00 am is IDPA, fourth Sat. is Cowboy Action. All matches are open to the public and anyone interested in shooting with us can get information at chrpc.com. The 3-gun match is just getting on its feet and there are usually only 10-15 shooters it is shot like uspsa and scored like IDPA so far it has been alot of fun. IDPA has been going for several years and will have 35-45 shooters and 5-6 stages it is a well run match.I do not shoot with the cowboy's but I have been out to watch, they have been at it for a while and have a good turnout. It looks like fun, I just don't have the toys required to play! I just thought I would pass this along for anyone in the area who would like to give any of these games a try. Visitors are welcome to come out and watch as well, everyone on the ranges are required to have hearing and eye protection whether they are shooting or not.

What are the rd. cts. usually like on the 3 gun matches and how many stages? Is it 3 Gun or Multigun? Thanks for any info you can provide.

We usually shoot 4-stages, 1 long range rifle with some handgun thrown in sometimes and 3 close range CQB type stages where you will transition from one gun to another. We are not allowed to use 3- point slings at this time, when going from rifle or shotgun to handgun etc. you must clear your weapon, lock the bolt open and lay it on a table with the muzzle towards a designated safe direction.150 rds rifle, 75 rds birdshot 7.5 or smaller 100 pistol is usually plenty. Bring 10-15 slugs we use them sometimes. The close stages are my favorite, lots of steel including Texas-Star, plate rack and lots of poppers.IDPA targets are used for the close rifle and some handgun. We are not allowed to shoot steel with the rifles at any distance due to club regs.

I hope this answers your questions, there is info on our website about specific round requirements when our illustrious match director remembers to post them! If I can be of any further help you may e-mail me at digitone@digitonegraphics.com

I would like to thank everyone that came out to join us in our last 3-gun match of the year. Oddly enough it was our best turnout to date. Match top gun awards were passed out along with the season points winners. Again, thanks to all that shot with us. price g.

CHRPC's IDPA and 3-GUN clubs are getting a new wesite! Hopefully in the near future ther will be a link from www.chrpc.com to it. Until then it can be found at www.beccaweb.com/IDPA/ , here you will find match info, directions to the club, scores, stages to be shot etc. If you have not been out to shoot with us yet, come and give it a try, it's FUN! If you have any questions the website does not answer, you may feel free to contact me at digitone@digitonegraphics.com
