This may have been discussed before. If a Sports bar post correct no carry is the owner exempted and do they have the right to allow certain ones the right to carry. I guess since its the owners decision to post it . It should be their decision to enforce it.

The owner of an establishment could always carry, even before the new law and yes they can allow certain people to carry, but there is criteria that must be met.

39-17-1305. Possession of firearm where alcoholic beverages are served. —

© The provisions of subsection (a) shall not apply to a person who is

(2) On the person's own premises or premises under the person's control or who is the employee or agent of the owner of the premises with responsibility for protecting persons or property.

After July 14th, if they post a 39-17-1359 sign, then I don't think among the general public they could legaly allow some to carry and not others.

But at the same time.....who else is going to press the charges.

As was said the onwer has always been exempt and could carry, even before the new law.

I was always under the assumption it just applied to employees or security personnel anyway, but as you said who else would press the charges?
