Hello: thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I recently got my CCP and have been reading up on all kinds of CC info on various websites on the net. I'm in Memphis and usually shoot at Range USA. Incidently Range USA is the number 1 permit issuer in the state. I have 4 weapons that I primarily shoot when at the range and I'm trying to decide which one to carry.

Custom 1911 .45 on Ithaca frame

H&K P7 PSP (9mm)

CA 75 P-01 (9mm)

CZ 82 (9x18)

I like the idea of big slugs for self defense but the full size 1911 seems a little heavy for every day carry. Would appreciate any thoughts experience on the matter. I'm in the market for holsters and would like to hear thoughts on IWB vs OWB too. P.S. My wife got her permit at the same time and we're trying to find a pistol she can carry. She has pretty small hands but liked my P7 and the CZ 82. I'd like to see her in as big a caliber as possible. What do your wives, girlfriends and moms like to carry? Anyway I'll be around so don't hesitate to share thoughts.

One note....you have Handgun Carry Permit - HCP. You can carry openly if you choose to.

My daughter is not old enough to legally carry yet, haven't got my mother to get her HCP and no current girlfriend. There is a Women and Firearms forum on the board, you may check in there for ideas.

Welcome from the Morristown area! I carry a Kel Tec P-11 or my P-32, depends on my mood that day. :usa:Heck, sometimes I'll carry them both!

Thanks for the warm welcome and "the corrections" re: HCP not CCP. Got to learn the lingo too I see. Guess I'll need to search the site for awhile for some thoughts on holsters, guns for gals, etc. Thanks again to all.
