Im getting ready to build my own rifle. Ialready own a Dpms AP4. I like the Dpms but I am trying to spend the least amount possible just to see where I end up price wise. Im new to building my own so im curious as to what would be the best way to go. I would aslo like to keep all the parts with the same brand ecept for the internals (lower reciever). Keep in mind that this is going to be a rifle for the woman of the house. Lets not make hers better than mine. LOL. So if you can share any opinions or expertise that would be great.

Better make it the Del-Ton then. RRA would be the top of that list.

Rock river is no more expensive than the others. GunBroker list the parts roughly the same price as the others. Completed lowers maybe, but i can build one with a stripped lower for same price as the others completed. Its not that i dont have the money ,its that this is a little experiment for me to see how i come out in the end. But yes I am shooting for the least amount possible

Good luck getting one though (the RRA's). That is my preference as well.

My upper has been on backorder for over three months and the information on ARFCOM says they are still filling orders spreading from November last year to January.

They can't get barrels

Most of the other sites are slow getting orders out as well. I hit Bravo Company's site last night and the standard uppers and rifle kits are all sold out.

You will pay a premium if you get one off gunbroker or the equipment exchange at AR15.com Of course the locals have them. Hero Gear, The Outpost Armory. I saw about 8 rifles at Reloaders Bench last week.

I found a guy that will sell me a cmmg lower for about $175 but my goal is to try not to mix match a bunch of parts. The other cmmg parts are expensive if you can find them. That is why I am going these brands right now they seem a little more plentiful than some of the pricier brands. This is my first build so I want it to look good. Plus the old lady is going to be shootin it. She doesnt like anything that isnt purdy. LOL

Meh, generally a lower is a lower. I wouldn't call $175 a deal on that CMMG either. Talk to Shawn @ TN Police Supply or Joe @ Hero-Gear. Pretty sure Shawn had some Spike's lowers and I know Joe usually carries them (along w/ YHM, S&W, and Tactical Innovations I beleive).

The lower is used but complete minus the buttstock. It is a deal!

Ah, I thought you meant it was a stripped lower! :shake:
