Slight change for me recently. Started carrying the kel tech in pocket holster, on the front right side. Can walk around with my hand securly on the grip and no one notices a thing. In case of trouble I'm not reaching back to draw, its coming out of the pocket.

I've mentioned Bill Jordan before and his book No Second Place Winner. He goes into the argument about cross-draw and explains why it's a bad idea. For one thing, it makes it easier for bad guys to grab your handgun.

Only cross-draw I use is a vertical shoulder holster.

Since I've started carrying my new 1911, I carry carry it in the same positon as the XD at 4 o'clock but OWB instead of IWB. I use a Safariland pancake slide style holster for it and it holds it real close to the body.

I have noticed some of the Cops on TV carry in a cross draw belt holster, is there any real advantage to this? To me it would seem slower than a strong side?

The real advantage to cross-draw is when you find yourself sitting down (such as in a vehicle). The dis-advantage, for regular concealed-carry (or open-carry for that matter), is that it is easier for a BG to be able to block your ability to draw... and it places your gun in a very accessible position to a person facing you.

I know of no cops that carry in a cross draw holster. Several of them that I know have a left hand holster mounted to the center console of their car for either another pistol or their duty weapon just in case they need their pistol quickly while in the car.
