I just bought my first DAO pistol a used S&W 5944. Haveing fired mostly 1911 type pistols for more years than I want to think about, the trigger pull on this Smith has me talking to myself. Is there a "get used to factor" or are the triggers all horrible? Is there anybody that can make them feel better?

The difference between a 1911-type trigger and a DAO trigger is like night and day. Yes, it will take a lot of getting used to. No, I don't think it can ever be made to feel like a 1911.

Yeah, dao triggers suck. Not much else to say.

I have a S&W 340SC which is a DAO. I'm glad it has a crappy, heavy trigger. I drop it in a pants pocket and I don't want something snagging it.

On a pistol, though, I agree that DAO sucks. If you get tired of it just sell it and get something else.
