Extension Scope Rings

I've run into a problem with a new scope that I bought for my Savage 110 bolt action 270.

The body of the scope is too short to mount on the base that was provided. I have been looking around for answers and found extension scope rings.

Is this a good answer or should I change the mounting base? I don't have much room on the rifle even if I put a new base on.

Has anyone used these rings and have they had any problems with them?
