Yep. The M1 Carbine is one of my favorite rifles, would love to see y'alls.

Mine is an early Universal commercial carbine, but all the GI parts fit. Planning to get an original someday to keep it company. :screwy: Got a shot of it hanging out with it's "also wasn't there" 1911 buddy. :D

I've got a winchester in layaway at the pawn shop.... it'll be a few months, but I'll post some pics up as soon as it comes home to daddy

I'm not inclined to take pictures right now but my '43 IBM is just about my favorite gun ever. Was also the first center-fire rifle Dad handed over to me at about 13 years old.

The '43 Winchester and '43 National Postal Meter carbines from CMP are just icing on the cake.

Thanks!

56 I'm gonna have to touch that rifle. You know that right!

You know where it is, come on down sometime. You can even shoot it, if you want.

Oh I'm there!!! When is another question. I got baseball game Saturday afternoon, going to run up to Crossville Sunday morning (I hope the big guy understands) and then work and ball games all week! I'm going to be worn out before the Fourth!

Just let me know, I'm usually around. Changed the oil in the tractor tonight, hoping to get back to bush hogging tomorrow afternoon. Stop by on your way home, if you want.

What time do you think you'll be around tomorrow afternoon? I need to drag those Federal primers down the hill anyway! We have the late practice session tomorrow night so I don't have to get up the hill till about 5:45 or 6.

I want to get your opinion on my press being slightly out of line, too.

As for what time, no clue. Yesterday I was home about 4:30, today I got home about 6:00. I'll text you when I have an idea.

Here is mine. It is an Underwood 1943 build I picked up off of LSN in March before that stopped listing guns. I had one years ago and stupidly got rid of it. Got this one to replace it and have a blast with it. Since this pic I have added a reproduction sling to make it just like the old one.

my father in law gave me this, he didn't know what it was... i stripped it found out it was apparantly a later generation (third?) universal. s/n is 367XXX and it has two recoil springs. its in pretty good shape and I won't prejudge it on all the bad hype they got, I'll just shoot it and form my own opinion I guess.

Nice looking rifle! My Universal shoots great, but it's an early model that fits GI parts.

What is the thing that appears to stick up on the left side of the receiver? Some form of optic mount?

Posted

yes, its a weaver side mount, I know at one point universal developed a scope mount and sold some weaver scopes with the rifle but this is not that mount just fits in the stock the same way.
