So, who is a mechanic in the Thompson's Station, Columbia, Chapel Hill area? AC compressor died on my S10 work truck today. I will lose weight till it's fixed, and possibly face death if not fixed at all.

AC quit putting out cool/cold air. Stopped and raised the hood, smoking out of the front of it, at the wheel. Disconnected the electric and it stopped smoking.

And I'm thinking the labor to replace the clutch alone would be a wash to put a re-built compressor on. Though, recharging the system after an entire assembly is put on might make the difference.

Probally, I would go with the rebuilt compressor myself. either way you are goingto have to have the system evacuated and recharged since the compressor has to come off to change the clutch.

That clutch should come off without the comp being removed.

Should be a bolt on,and not a pressed on clutch.

Now wait just a dang minute. I've never met a Mopar I didn't like and only 1 GM I did. That was the SSR when it first came out.B)
