Buying bulk pulled bullets?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have been thinking about buying some pulled bullets from rvow.com and I saw the comment in the thread about reloading 9mm.

So, does anyone else buy pulled bullets in bulk for reloading?

Do you ever have problems with shape/size as mentioned by Glockster?

Glockster - have you had success using pulled bullets from other places, or do you always buy new now?

btw, I will be loading blasting/plinking ammo, not expecting match performance.

We use pulled bullets to re-load .50BMG. They work very well, but you have to run them all through a sizing die. If the pull marks are too bad we trash them.

I've never had an issue with pulled 9mm. I always buy a buttload whenever midway has them in stock.

Thanks for the replies, actually I was talking looking at 223.

On the rvow website they say:

"They are inspected, and all run through a set of draw dies to insure roundness and proper diameter."

Would this be sufficient? Are they using different terms for the same sizing process you mentioned Jason?

Thanks

Yea it sounds that way. Thats all we are doing when we run them through a sizing die.

Go to southernarizonareloading.com. Have the best prices I could find on 115gr fmj 9mm.

Holy cow...pulled 9mm at $90 per 1000. That is what new costs just about everywhere I buy from.

Here

Actually twice as much as lead bullets.

And Here

At that price after 2000 shots one could actually buy a decent ballard rifled glock barrel with the savings...if it is polygonal rifling that keeps you from using lead.

There are still good deals to be had...rare as they are
