As some of you may remember last month I asked for prayers for my family because of my fathers cancer had returned. The doctors gave him 6-9 months.

Well Tuesday morning Dad lost his fight. He was 58, He was a loving husband of 37 years, a Dad to 12, and a foster dad to more than 60 kids over the last 26 years. He was the man who taught me to shoot, hunt, fish, and all those other things a Daddy does.

He will be missed by many. I have lost my nest friend and hunting partner. Things are going to be hard for a long time. I have lots of great memories.

Just please say a few words for us if you can.

Thank you all very much

I LOVE YOU DADDY

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

This is something I can relate to, on a personal level. In 2000, my dad was not feeling well, went to the docs, they found nothing, he didn't believe them, he just felt bad. He came to Memphis, saw the doc my wife works for, and the doc felt something immediately, test, scans etc, Adrenal Gland Cancer, the half dollar sized organ was the size of a grapefruit. They gave him 12 months, but need to do surgery to remove it, due to pain, rupture etc that could and would happen. Surgery here and a surgery there, my father, my best friend, died, September 11, 2000. He was 59. I was 27.

I say this not for sympathy, or take anything away, but to let you know that there are those out here that understand what you are going through and if you need anything, let us know.

So again, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

The greatest testament to the character of a man is for his son to grow and be as good of a man as he was. Hang in there.

:D - very sorry for your loss. I believe the saddest day in a man's life is the day he looses his father. This too will pass friend. My father is in ill health and I know that someday I will experience that saddness. Pull your family close and take comfort that you are not alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep trusting in your heavenly father and you will get through this. Prayers your way....

Sorry about your loss. It may not feel like it now but the pain will ease with time. He sounds like a great man and like you made many good memories to think back on and remember him by. Prayers are comming your way.

God bless you and your extended family. How many of us can say we've touched as many lives as your dad did in such a meaningful way as foster parenting? Very, very few. And 12 of his own. What a full life he lived, giving of himself to others.

Take comfort in knowing that love transcends time...it sounds like your father, with that many loving children, gave start to quite a legacy.

You and your family are in my prayers, man. My father's health isn't the best, and this really strikes home with me-- know, no matter what, that you are not alone, my friend. If there is anything any of us can do, don't hesitate to ask.

God bless and God be with you in your time of need.

May God bless you and help ease your pain. I don't handle this topic well. Trust that he is in a better place. He has finally made the journey to his real home. This life is just a short journey for us, the real life begins when we get to heaven. God Bless.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It has been hard these last few days and with Fathers Day on Sunday I can't see it getting any easier.

I know he is in a better place now and he is no longer in pain. I thank God that he didn't have to suffer for too long and he passed in his sleep at home surrounded by those who loved him and not in a hospital somewhere.

He has worked so hard over the years to support his family and doing without so we didn't have to. Now he is getting some much needed and deserved rest.

Once again me and my family thank you all.
