Hello all,

I just discovered these pages via a web search today and I am glad I did. I am originally from Massachusetts and moved here 8 years ago. I am a damn yankee and happy for it.

I became a gun owner on July 2nd, 2008 after the Heller Case. I bought my weapon for the July 4th celebration of our Country's birthday and in honor of the freedoms we still have.

While I had been shooting a few times before with a friend who was a policeman in Massachusetts, the restrictive gun laws in Massachusetts kept me from wanting to go through the process to get my own gun.

My gun of choice is a flattop M-4 style AR-15. While there are a lot of accessories one can add to one of these I have opted to keep my carbine lightweight and the only addition I added was an EoTech 512 weapon sight I bought as surplus from LAPD. I have not regretted it.

Since July of 2008 I have learned how to safely store, carry and use my weapon. I've put about 2000 rounds through it with out much trouble (the only problem I had was with two magazines that had trouble locking in.)

I am working hard to improve my marksmanship and would love to participate in competition shooting if there is any here in Tennessee.

Welcome BORF, I'm originally from New Jersey and have been in TN since 2001 and love it. I bought my first firearm in Dec. 2000. I now shoot in IDPA and 3 Gun. I go to training classes at least once a year. You will love this site as there are a lot of great people here.
