CMP Shoot

Well, my place is okay for pistols, but I don't have anything like the range needed to exercise these gals. Maybe we can work something out with Cherokee rod and gun?

Right this minute, I don't have a relief identified, so I am not sure when I will be off the ship. Shooting for 25 October, with 60 days at home. They're gonna scream about the 60 days, I already know.

I can get us in at ORSA, 1000 yard range... etc... I am going to try to go to the CMP clinic on September 15th. I will talk to Charlie, the CMP coordinator, about a group coming in during November. I don't know if he will be receptive or not but he's the boss.

This is beginning to sound like a plan. Would be a good opportunity for people to complete the shooting requirements for CMP eligibility. Fun, too...

Okay, Folks, I have 5 or 6 service rifles (M1's and M1A's) to loan out. Want to make it a TGO match?

Fury, once you get some info/confirmation from Charlie, maybe we should turn this over to a moderator for a new sticky topic.

Done.

This is an excellent idea... I'm sure we'll get plenty of participation.

I don't know Charlie very well and ORSA's last CMP event for the year is September 15th and 16th. It maybe a possibility and it may not. I don't want to get anyones hopes up and then dash'em. On the bright side Mid to late November and December seem to be slow months at ORSA for High Power.

Well, I am hosed on making it to the ORSA CMP Clinic on the 15th.

On a lighter note The Polly Crockett Festival in Cowan, TN is happening on the 15th & 16th and I get the privilege of waiting tables at my wife's restaurant.

If you have to ask... :D

I thought you were running a family buisiness over there, the PG type.

hahahaha well, I guess we know where we can go to eat next time we go shooting in Knoxville...

We are along way from Knoxville, 2 1/2 hours southwest... Large metro area of Cowan TN (pop 5K if you count the animals)

I thought you were running a family business over there, the PG type.

Where is your sense of romance... Eating in a restaurant designed to look like an ally way in Naples, The women love that stuff. (Now I am starting to sound like Joe when he is schmoozing) :D

I'm assuming, by the name and description, that her place caters to authentic/home-made Italian food?:yum:

How far from Hampton, VA? :D

About 4 hours, 1 hour to Chattanooga, 1 1/2 to Knoxville from Chatt... Is Kingspot 1 1/2 past Knoxville?

Depends on whose driving. That's how long it took me, but if tower was driving........well I think we all know how long it would take.

Last time I drove that route it was 12 hours, and yes, family made Italian food. Pasta, Pizza, and cheeses I have no hope of seeing 170 pounds again...

Yeah, 12 hrs sounds about right. I googled the name and found some really good reviews on her place, along with her website. Looks like awesome food and very well received by your patrons. I'll definitely have to check it out when I'm down that way visiting my brother next. :yum:

Hey Verb (mind if I call ya verb?) - I'm down at NOB right now. You gonna make it to the gunshow next weekend in Hampton? (that I'm gonna miss, sunofa- well, such is life).

Yeah, figured you were based outta Norfolk... I had asked my brother about that, but he wasn't sure.

Honestly, I didn't know there was a show coming up locally... which is probably a good thing since I already have about $3k planned in this AR build I'm starting on. I think the wife would kick my arse if I looked at anymore toys. :D

EDIT: But I might stop by there just to look around.
