Hello guys. I'm looking into this site out from CO. My family and I are moving to TN in late July. Somewhere near the Clarksville area. I have never lived in TN before and am exited about or move. Not looking forward to it but exited all the same. My wife took a teacher job in the school district that services Clarksville so that is where we are headed.

I'm ex military (3rd ID Fort Stewart GA) and got out in late 2007. I moved to CO to go to the Colorado School of Trades for gunsmithing. Got to use the GI bill so I thought G-smithing would be great. I love it! I recently graduated in April 09 and have completed all obligations here in CO.

I have too many firearms to list but love long range precision bolt guns. Plus its none of your business what I got anyways.

Looking forward to living back in the south. Also looking forward to chatting with you about firearms and issues about firearms.

I hope the hunting is good down there! Gonna miss the west. I lived in WY for many years before going Mill. Love elk hunting around Yellowstone area. Oh well. I here TN has an elk herd??? I also heard it opened to the public last year.

See you soon!

Welcome! I believe that there is quite a bit of red tape around the elk tags. Not sure about all the specifics, but do remember some talk about it.

Only 5 people will be drawn by lottery for the elk hunt. Will probably continue along those lines for several more years until the herd increases.

Still waiting to hear about the first one laying on the side of the interstate north of Knoxville though.

Welcome! It's always good to know a gunsmith. :) Are you going to set up shop here in TN once you're in the area?

Actually I would like to work under someone to fine tune my skills through their experience/knowledge. Know anyone looking for a gunsmith??:)

But if no one is looking under these current economic times, yes I'll hang a shingle out.

Welcome from Clarksville - several members here from this area. The two I met so far in person are super guys - both Army vets (one retired, one prior service). I am a retired squid from here originally.

I think you will find TN to your liking, as the outdoor opportunities are plentiful.
