Carl H. Royster, born in MS, grew up in southwest TN & west KY (Dad was a C of C preacher, so we moved a bit), now in K.S., TN. Family comes from Weakley (Royster) and Humphreys (Mom was a Meadow) counties. Farm boy that's hunted, fished, camped, target shot, etc. since I was a little kid. Now I'm a Computer System Administrator that is trying to survive thru two teenage daughters. And, no, I don't mind questions about PC computers--don't know too much about Macs though. Love the Lord God Almighty, my family, football (Vols & Titans), trucks, guns, horses, history, woodworking, etc.

Been browsing thru the posts. Seems like you've got a lot of nice, knowledgeable folks. Thanks.

there ARE alot of knowledgeable folks on here...not only that, but we get together and practice what we preach, on various ranges!

Welcome to the group. You'll make it through the teenaged daughters, I did and they were just 3 of 5 of my kids. Got lots of gray hair but thank God and good genes, I got lots of it.

Thanks for the reception! And thanks for the encouragement, Phantom6. Hopefully, after a few more years, I'll still have some hair left!

I'd like to get out to a range sometime, Towerclimber37. Does anyone know of any in my area that are long-distance (100+ yards)? I had an uncle in Athens, AL (Bill Roberts) who custom-made black powder rifles for shooting at distances as much as 1000 yards. That's a bit of a walk.
