thus the reason they introduced:

BILL NO. BL2009-489 (Maynard, Barry)

An ordinance prohibiting handguns within Metropolitan Government parks, and amending Section 13.24.440 of the Metropolitan Code pertaining to the prohibition against firearms within parks.

I'm sure they're just going to do a blanket ban instead of putting any thought whatsoever into which parks should be posted and which ones not.

Remember, local elections are often decided by a few hundred votes or less. Remind councilmen and commissioners how many HCP's are in your county.

Need to request that some of the pro-gun council members request a roll call vote on this resolution instead of a voice vote.

I requested Eric Crafton that he do that and he responded that he will. :tough:

Make them go on record where they stand. He's with us on this.

Okay, now this is interesting. In Bredesen's letter to Speaker Williams requesting local jurisdictions opt out of the local parks carry, he specifically mentioned "in parks close to schools or where large numbers of children congregate."

Nothing encouraging all local parks should be posted.
