Pricewise the RIA wins hands down. The SA might have a slight edge in quality but not by much. If you have the money for the SA, go for it, but if you want a real deal, get the RIA.

What about a taurus! lets toss that in the mix

Great 1911 for what all you get from the factory, lot of custom features. I've heard decent reviews from folks who own them. But if I was going to pay that much for the Taurus, I'd just save a little more and get the Springfield.

Or just save a little, and get the RIA and a bunch of ammo.

Just this year I got both the RIA and SA Milspec. Both have been excellent so far with maybe 100 rounds through each. I paid about $100 less for the RIA, however, Im just as pleased with it as I am the SA.

Para Ordinance is a Canadian Company

They were concerned the Obamassiah would put a ban on imported firearms.

I picked up this Firestorm Government Deluxe and its been flawless. Better finish than the RIA's for about the same price and it comes with most of the tactical goodies.

Firestorm must be Argentina.

See note about the mags at the American distributor's site where "Industria Argentina" is mentioned:

SGS FireStorm Firearms - Performance and PerfectionDoesn't it say on the gun, 70below?

- OS

The Firestorm 1911 is made in the Phillipines, as are RIA's, American Classics, and Charles Daly's. Gotta be the same factory.

Yes, most of the Firestorm pistols are Brazilian or Argentinian, Bersa actually. But who knows anymore!

The Firestorm is made in the Philippines. My understanding is they are a competitor to RIA and made at a different location. It is the same gun as the American Classic. They have a very good reputation with those in the Philippines. Just from feel and side by side comparisons, I would be pretty surprised if they were built on the same equipment.

I threw those 500S&W's in there just to throw everyone off a bit.....lol.

This is NOT the same "Firestorm" that Bersa sells, nor the "Firestorm" that was a re-badged Llama.

I like the Springfields alot, and had an interest in getting one. I was looking for a Tactical RIA also because it seemed they were $50-150 cheaper and already had some of the mods done. I came across this Firestorm for about the same price or less than the Tactical RIA and had a polished blue finish.

I would go with the RIA if you are not a die hard 1911 guy. If you are or think you are then go with the Springfield. Alot of people buy the RIA's and with the money they save fix them up to be pretty sharp
