And the prize goes to pjblurton for being the first to list 5 actual beers.

1. Rogue Shakespeare Stout - had it at the brewery years ago and it is my favorite to this day.

2. Close second: fresh homebrew from the keg in my garage. Can be anything from wickedly hoppy IPA to a crisp refreshing witbier to thick meaty Russian Imperial Stout.

3. Lots of other good ones, but here are the basic criteria for this beer snob:

- If you've ever seen it advertised on TV then I probably won't drink it.

- If its name contains "light" or (worse) "lite" then I definitely won't drink it.

Cheers,

Aaron

All-time favorite: Bohemia (Mexican)

When summer gets in full swing, tell you what I like to do.

Get a Bohemia, XX Amber or something similar.

Salt the rim of your favorite beer glass with margarita salt.

Squeeze in the juice of 1/2 a lime.

Fill the glass half full with crushed ice.

Pour the beer over the ice slowly (the salt and ice will cause excess foam)

Enjoy your Mexican Beer "Gato Style"...

Thanks for the props!

I have an Oktoberfest in the Kegerator right now. I know it's not in season, I just like it that much!

Enjoyable beers/ what I buy to keep in the fridge:

Boddingtons Pub Ale.

Tetleys

Murphy's Stout (the beer of the evening, actually)

Guinness

Guinness Stout

Drinking session/ the only others I can choke down if nothing good is available:

Sam Adams Boston Lager

Sam Adams Oktoberfest

Most of the time I keep some Boddington's in the fridge, though they were out tonight so I've got Murphy's. Just recently tried some 1554 Black ale, by the people that make Fat Tire. I just bottled what should be a heavy German ale that I homebrewed, it tasted great when I bottled it; just flat. Hopefully I can report on it in a few weeks.

Anyone heard of Stella Artois? Great beer

Definitely not a fan of beer from a green bottle. They all smell skunky and taste flat to me.

My top 5 are one and the same for session and enjoyable.....I'll drink most stuff if someone offers one, but if I'm buying, I don't drink if I can't drink what I enjoy.

1. Guinness

2. Negra Modelo

3. Alaskan Amber

4. Left Hand Milk Stout

5. Yuengling Black & Tan

I love the Alaskan Amber but I cant find it around Nashville? Any ideas where I can find it?

Xingu is awesome but very hard to find. Love most any stout or porter. Black and tan to lighten it up if having a several.

I don't really differentiate drinking sessions or drinking for enjoyment. But my fav's are Bud American Ale, Blue Moon (and each of their seasonals), Killians, El Caribe and El Presidente (had them in the Caribbean, quite good), a lot of Sam Adam's beers, Warsteiner, Guiness, Sapporo, dang near anything German.

If I order beer from out of state does the delivery company have to report that to the state so I can be taxed like with ammo? The next thing you know we'll be in trouble for having alcohol and ammo delivered the same day.

I do not separate drinking sessions from enjoying good beer. I can not tolerate crap beer.

So currently I am drinking:

1) Rodenbach Grand Cru

2) Stone Smoked Porter

3) Bell's Consecrator Dopplebock

4) Bell's Special Double Cream Stout

5) Cantillon Gueuze

6) Whatever is on tap on the kitchen keggerator, currently and American Pale ale I brewed in May, a Chocolate Hazelnut Porter I brewed in April, and what is left of a commercial keg of Yazoo Dos Peros.
