Natchez or Mousetail Camping

Has anyone ever tent camped at either:

Natchez Trace State Park

http://www.tennessee.gov/environment/parks/NatchezTrace/

or

Moustail State Park

http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/MousetailLanding/

The reason I ask is we are thinking about going camping again next weekend (June 20), and my wife has pretty bad asthma. She loves the outdoors, but the heat and humidity make it hard for her to breathe, and we wanted to go where the tent camp sites have electrical so we can at least take a box fan.

Reading on each park's website state that they have electricity at the sites, so that is why we are choosing between the two. (We camped at Chickasaw State Park May 29-31, and their tent sites do not have electric, but their RV sites do)

I am just wanting people opinions about the two parks I mentioned. Pro vs. Cons, fishing stories, you know typical camping info.

Thanks in advance.

I never camped at Mousetail, but have visited it several times. Looks like nice place to tent camp with pretty good amenities. Close to fishing spots, good level sites, generally fairly quiet.

I camped (RV) lots at Natchez. AKAIK all the spots have hook-ups but the tent camp is kinda far away from the fishing spots. One advantage is the TWRA range, which is nice and well kept. You do have to keep your firearms locked up and unloaded while you're in the campgrounds. At Browns Lake in Natchez, there's some pretty good catfishing right at the boat ramp.

Never camped at Mousetail, but have camped at Natchez Trace many many times. I like Natchez Trace alot. You can hike, ride horse, ride bikes, motorcyles, of course camp, fish, hunt, and they even have a shooting range. It is close to Lexington if you need to go to town for supplies or just want to eat in air conditioning or want to go to church. Or if you don't want to go to town, you will never know Lexington is close by.

I have camped at both and I like Mousetail better. My mom lives about 15 or 20 minutes from mousetail. Mousetail Landing is on the TN river which has some really good fishing.

Mousetail is better for the fishing and camping in general. Natchez trace is good for other things to do, including firing range - and having a fairly well equipped town nearby. I'd go w/ Mousetail :)

I've camped at Mousetail a long time ago, mostly got to Natchez now.

Really nice place.

Here is a LINK to a thread I started about the range there with pictures.
