For those of you that have kids...

I just wanted to say you all have my respect. My wife and I have our niece this weekend and have been enjoying every minute of it, but man is it work!

She is 3 and is a great kid, but she is a ball of energy and I never thought I could be this worn out in my life. I wasn't this tired at the end of most days in boot camp!!!

She ran us ragged through the zoo, Chuck E Cheese (which we almost didn't get to leave because her blacklight arm stamp got smudged and she wouldn't tell the lady at the door who she came with. Finally she told the lady our names lol), and swimming.

It's tough work, but she's such a joy. Not ready for one of our own yet, but she certainly is a blessing. ;)

Anyway to all the full-time parents out there KUDOS TO YOU! I'm off to write my Mom an 18 year back sympathy card and soak my feet.

My daughter will be 5yrs old in 2 months. She is a lot of fun and full of energy LOTS OF IT!!! Man I am getting old.

As I type this my wife is trying to get our 3 yo ball of energy to go to sleep. He has been up since 8 am and has been going strong all day with no nap.

It's like running a marathon. You ran a marathon today without training for it. I have been in training for 3 years and have about 20 more to go.

Who has the sig line that says "Having children is like getting pecked to death by a chicken everyday?";)

As much as I love her and love kids my manager has a saying about having your own kids...

"Kids and boats, it's nice to know somebody with one." ;)

My wife and I had to switch from man-to-man to zone a while back. Yah, it's busy, but it's awesome...

I was 47 when my first child, a litttle Girl was born. She starts school this fall.

I wish I had just a tenth of her energy. She has been keeping me young. I will get

to spend a couple of weeks with her soon when she comes to the Fort to visit.

I think you all need to get in shape if you can't handle a three year old! My husband and I have eight Children, and we are still going strong!!! For our age anyway. They are all grown up and now we get to "enjoy" our Grandchildren ( the 16th is on it's way)

The best part of being a Grandparent as I'm sure youv'e all heard before, You love them, spoil them, then send them home!!

I have chased criminals, ran miles in full combat gear in the heat, fired hundreds of rounds and rolled around in the mud, and NOTHING prepares you for a three year old running at full-tilt screaming I WANNA SEE THE BIG KITTIES!!!!!!!

I'm much happier to be tired from this all day though. :( She did fall asleep first though, so I guess I won in the long run lol

My little girl (4 yrs) woke up yesterday at 6:30 went to bed at 10:30 got up at 12:30 & again at 3:00.

I also have a boy (12 yrs) That is unbeleiveable how much energy he has.

THEN WE HAVE TO PUT THEM TOGETHER :death::dirty:

I wouldn't trade it for the world!!!!

It's hard work but well worth every bit. Nothing like seeing your boy shooting his first stage at a USPSA match. See avatar to the left :dirty:.

We've got six (4 girls & 2 boys). That's what I get for marrying into a big Catholic family (my wife is one of 8).

13 years difference from youngest to oldest.

But, It's finally starting to get a bit easier (or, maybe I'm just too beat down to care anymore). The oldest two are in college, youngest will be in 2nd grade next year. :bowrofl:

Sending my first off to college this fall, and my youngest the following year.

I'm glad I had both of mine when I was in my mid 20's otherwise I'm not sure if I could have made it this far and still move around. :D

To you younger guys, everyone tells you that they grow up in the blink of an eye. You don't really believe it until you're in the position I'm in.

Be sure to spend as much time as you can making memories with your kids. You will be surprised to hear them recount things you did together. Things that were very simple stuff. Stuff that you would never believe would be anything to remember. But it was special to them just because you were together.

my wife and i have a 2 year old boy, 3 year old girl, and 6 year old girl. if we have any of them alone they are saints but when the three are together you would think they were spawned from satan himself. but no matter what they do or how bad they are acting they're still gifts from God and i love em.

Grandkids are God's gift for not killing your children!!

my little girl turns 30 this year. i'm glad i had the time to get to know her while she was growing up. we have those great father/daughter talks that i will always remember and cherish. without sounding like a perv, there's nothing like a good healthy father/daughter relationship. you guys with girls, take time to get to know them. spend time with them, don't be afraid to talk with them about guy things. let them know what a guy thinks and perils they will face out in the big world. you are their biggest hero, remember that and always be a good example. i could go on but i'm sure you've heard it before.

No, no, no.....

Grandkids are God's reward for putting up with your own children.

I got 2 grandkids and yes they are balls of energy. I thank God for them.

My wife has a plaque that says:

One hundred years from now it will not matter what kind of house you lived in, how much money you had, nor what your clothes were like. But the world may be a little better because you made a difference in the life of a child.

We're foster and adoptive parents, and you while I believe every child's place is with their mommy and daddy, sometimes it just won't work out. When you've struggled through raising someone else's baby that was born addicted to vicodin and cocaine, you couldn't love them any more if they were your own flesh and blood.

There's a constant need of foster and adoptive parents in Tennessee. These kids might be just passing through your life, but you can make a difference, and they can make a difference in your life.

Just a thought.

My father and I had a great relationship. He pass away in 2001 and I still miss him dearly. Every time I had a problem no matter what it was I would call him and ask what do. He was my best friend
