A Utah man bagged a public toilet at Centerville’s Carl’s Jr. restaurant Tuesday when his gun fell out of its holster and misfired as he was pulling up his pants.

Police said a Salt Lake City man received minor injuries to his arm from flying shards of porcelain when the .40-caliber bullet from his gun shattered the toilet as it hit the tile floor, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

The 26-year-old had a concealed-weapons permit but police confiscated the firearm for “safe-keeping†while they reviewed the incident and to give the man time to calm down.

No one else was injured in the incident, however a woman in the adjacent restroom complained of chest pain after being frightened by the shot.

A good place to be if the (bad word) is scared out of you.

Yeah, I remember reading about this a couple of months ago over at DC's fourm.Thats the last thing we need right now,thats for sure,and I hope everyone doesent open carry the first night out,imange ,the shepple eatting whe a group of friends,5 guys and gals all open carring come in,to eat,they would ,junp up,scream,end run out the door,its going to take some time for them to adjust to life in Doge City....lol....

I keep it simple--always use the stalls, always put the pistol on the toilet tank or TP rack so there's nothing TO fall out of the holster.

Just don't forget to pick it up before you leave the stall!

Well, I don't pull down my pants to piss, that's what zippers are for and there ain't NO way in he|| I'm taking a dump in a public terlet. There's no way they clean those things good enough, and there's nothing worse than trying to put a few layers of TP over the seat so you can slide around on it and get it stuck to your ars. Plan ahead, make your offerings to the porcelain god in your own personal shrine, then there's no worries.

I don't know how old you are but the day will likely come when the choice is in your pants, a public "terlet", or the seat of my car while trying to race home. I won't like it but I'll choose the public terlet. Then go home, take a shower and put on clean clothes. I guess I'd do that last part regardless of which of the three choices I made.

I used to be that way about public toilets, but when the unexpected happens, I'm lathering that seat down with half an inch of TP so I can take care of business...

I agree, I'll do a strategic drop before I leave the house to avoid such situations. Then, I use the stall-zipper combo. My gun NEVER leaves its holster in a public place.

Well to be honest, I've had an emergency or two. In that event I always do the "Hover and Shover". As far as my weapon, the strap on a Galco OWB holster holds fast.

i dunno..

one of my local Mexican restaurants that i frequent far too much, always has plain clothed police in there that open carry. I dont know exactly what part of the force they are on.. but only one of them wears a visible badge on the very rare occasion. Its a mixture of woman and men... no-one even blinks an eye when they walk in... but perhaps everyone knows they are cops.
