Hello everyone. I am new to the site and am getting ready to buy a handgun and get my concealed carry permit. I have fired handguns, shotguns, and rifles my whole life, but have never actually owned a handgun. I am looking for something good to conceal carry, so let me know if you have something under $300 to sell.

Welcome to the board....You can buy handguns all day long for $300....Just depends on what kind of handgun your looking for.....But if your like any of the rest of us, you might by a handgun for $300, but that'll just get your foot in the door. That's where the bug bite comes in. Once you get that, the first $300 you spend will seem cheap. My advice, unless your just looking to rush into something right now, take a few suggestions on various different types of handguns, do a little research, and all the while let your $300 build a little bigger. Then you won't need a price limit. I made this mistake and although I do like the gun I bought for $300, I've shot it maybe 5 times, and that $300 could have been spent on what I really want now:D....I tellin ya man, it's the bug and once it's bite ya, there's no turning back.

Good luck in your search!

Welcome to the forum! And buy a Glock for goodness sake- although not $300!

Hey there.

$300 is pretty cheap unless you consider something like a J-frame S&W .38 revolver, or a lower end Semi-auto (Taurus PT series, S&W Sigma).

If you could scrounge up another $100, you'd have more used Springfield XDs and Glocks in your price range than you could shake a stick at.

Is this for carry, target shooting, or both? Just remember, if you don't like what you buy, you can always sell it and buy something different.

Welcome to the TGO forums.

Right now GlocKing has religion again and only recommend Glocks. I have seen the time when he was considering getting rid of all his Glocks (which would have been a good move IMHO).

If this is a carry gun, you really need to get something that you like. Take your time and look around.

The Tennessee carry permit course is so easy that you can easily pass the qualification part with a borrowed gun and no practice. Don't sweat that. Do go ahead get your permit. Then take your time and you'll find a good carry gun in whatever price range you set.
