Greetings from Fairview

Hello all. I enjoyed lurking for a while and have started posting a bit, so I figured I'd introduce myself.

My wife and I live in Fairview, having moved here from Dallas. This forum has been a great resource, especially for information about local training.

We shoot and carry 1911's, and I'm eager to try IDPA or USPSA. Just what I need - another expensive and time-consuming hobby to add to cycling and home brewing.

Cheers,

Aaron

Welcome Aaron,

I live kinda close to you. I shoot USPSA a bunch and their is a club out in Dickson that holds a match once a month and an IDPA club that shoots twice a month. PM me if I can help you in any way.

"Snappy's Pizza, China King, and Las Plaza... what's not to LOVE!"

Don't forget the Sonic! All the more reason to be a good cook and brew my own beer!

Welcome Aaron.

Keep in mind, we do have the Country Cafe.

Best breakfast in town if you can't get the wife or mom to cook for you that morning.

May I also recommend The Farmer's Buffet in Dickson just off I-40 and 46 Hwy.

Where do you go to shoot?

Welcome Aaron.

I am just up the road from you in Bellevue. My wife and I used to live in Fort Worth. I do a lot of hunting in the fairview area. Welcome to TGO.

Welcome. I dunno how long you been in the 'view but watch out for Juan. {GOD I hope you aren't Juan :D}

FYI, Juan is the douche of a traffic cop for Fairview. Most of the other cops are cool. Chief Harris is a fair man. Juan....:) Well, there's a reason he got canned from Metro. Watch your speedo. 45mph not 48!!!!!

Also, never get involved in Fairview politics. This city is always trying to be a big carp in a little pond. As a local business owner says (NOT US!) The Gestapo is alive and well at city hall, HEIL FAIRVIEW!:D

Atleast we're getting a better liquor store soon. Supposedly the old furniture store is going to be a new booze outlet with a better selection. That's always a bonus!

Again welcome to town!!

I'm not Juan, nor have I encountered him. A buddy of mine is with Metro so maybe I'll ask around.

Fairview politics reminds me of Kissinger's quote about university politics: "... vicious precisely because the stakes are so small."

I usually shoot at Uselton's, where my wife and I are members. I have read some unflattering comments about them on this forum. Please - let's not start that again...
