I have been having problems with my hazard/turn signals on my 1995 Accord. Well, I have took it to the shop, which cost $80 just to look at it and TRY to determine the cause of the problem. They said it was the headlight/turn signal combo switch, so I bought one and replaced it, that cost $30! I also replaced the flasher relay, and that cost $15. Im now up to $125 in fixing this problem. Still NOT fixed!!!

I got on a car forum I frequent and asked them for suggestions. I recently put a radio in it, and happened to remember that they quit working after installing the radio. So when I told the guys on the forum about installing the radio, the said to take it all back out and check ALL connections again. So I did, and guess what? When I plugged all the connectors back in after the installation, I plugged the connector for the dash clock into the hazard switch, instead of the hazard connector. So needless to say, when I found that and plugged the correct one in, BAM!!! I have hazards/turn signals!

Just wanted to let you guys in on my blonde moment!

BTDT...

Helping a buddy retrofit a '64 Impala SS with a Muncie 4-spd (originally a Powerglide car), got everything together, pedals mounted, new console, clutch bracket welded in-place...

Went to turn the key... nothing.

We spent hours tracing it down, found that we'd forgotten to hook the neutral-safety-switch from the auto-shifter up to the switch on the clutch...

It seems like its always the small things that you miss!

I know we all hate to do it, but some times it is easier to read the instructions first than having to take everything apart and start over using the instructions.

Don't let my wife know I said that.

Blasphemy!

Let me re-phrase that, some times it's better not having to listen to our wives/girlfriends/significant others saying "I told you so" by reading the directions first than having to re-do it by the instructions. Too many times I have heard this. I at least glance at them now.

A couple of years ago our drier stopped working. I was like WTF. I checked the plug, checked the breakers, nothing thrown. So i call Sears to have a repair man come out. $70 to get them to the door. The guy comes out fiddles around a minute or two and asks to see the breaker box. I tell him that I already looked at it and the breakers were all still on. He asks again to see it, so I show him, he flips the breaker for the drier off and back on. Well I bet you all can guess what happens now. The freakin drier works.

I did not know the breaker could blow and not flip the switch visibly into the neutral position as I had always thought.

Now I know better and it cost $70 to learn.

DUH.

Somehow, it always involves money to learn something!

My friend bough a tube guitar amp off the internet once. It was shipped from England, and the tubes were shipped outside of the amp in a seperate box so they could be padded better. We put the tubes in and turned the amp on, no sound. We spend the next 3 hours taking tubes out, putting them back in, trying different cables, different cabs, different guitars and anything else we could think of. We finally gave up and I left. My friend called me an hour later.

We had forgotten to turn the volume up.
