I had one (bought it for the wife, but she wouldn't shoot it so I gave it to my brother). I never had any real problems out of it, but it was NOT accurate in the least!

I happen to own a Jennings 22 that works fairly well if you stick with CCI Minimags or Federal Bulk pack. Remington bulk pack doesn't work as well. If you're seriously wanting to buy one, I can bring it with me on my next trip to Knoxville. I should be back this way on either the weekend of the 12th or the 19th.

I have a J22. $40 worth.

Good for tap & rack practice - this gun will jam in every way imaginable. Mini mags RN's do work best, occasionally feeding an entire 6 round mag without a hiccup. I got a lot of stovepipes w/ Federals.

I tried really hard to do a target for the TGO shooting context...did manage one decent group at 10 feet. At 10 yards, takes about 3 mags (18 rounds) to put 10 in the paper.

Didn't want to be accused of cheating, so I disqualified myself! :poop:

My son has one in .380 ACP,pure junk, the grip holds the safety spring in place,if the grip loosens the spring pops loose and jambs the safety, they are a royal pain to break down.I find it hard to believe but they do not put a slide stop on them so to clean you have to hold the slide open by hand or take it apart.I am not one to condemn other brands of handguns, after all I own 2 Tauruses that are on some peoples hit list as being junk, but you could not give me a Jennings.

I have to admit to it. I own one! It is the WORST gun I own. You'll notice I don't list it! It ONLY works with CCI Mini-Mags! I call it my "Ho" gun because it has pearl grips. I can hit a target that is about 6-7 feet away. I was told that fishermen would keep these guns in their tackle boxes for killing snakes. Good luck, I'd run first! Anyway, I would NOT buy this gun again! A waste of money, but good for a laugh!

In that price range, for that class of gun, I think I'd hunt for a Phoenix Arms .22

A guy I used to work with had one, and it seemed to be a decent little pistol (for what it is). He said their customer service was pretty good too, as he once had to send the gun back, and they sent him a brand new one (same serial, I guess they destroyed the faulty one) within 10 days.

I own a J22 and a few others that I use to loan family members. If I don't get it back no big loss. For a plinker they are ok and for the price it's ok. Would I carry one ? Yes I do sometimes. The Pheonix is a better buy for the money and is a step up from the Davis/Jennings/Bryco etc..... Plus they make some ool stuff for the Pheonix and it is fairly acurate. The HP22 is a nice pocket piece. You will find I am not a gun snob. I even own a few Hi-Points.

Jennings is garbage. Personally, I do not trust the opinions of people that endorse a Jennings as a real pistol. Similarly, I doubt those who claim that taurus is junk.

I have a j22 I was given. Really, I hit targets with it at 15 yards in viola, but then its had something like, maybe 100 rounds through it tops. However, it is a massive jammer. I've discovered the trick is to pull the slide back and release it all in one quick fluid motion, and if you get that first round in, you can then kind of just blast through the clip (10 round mag, don't load more than 5 though, it'll jam), and you MIGHT get through the clip without it jamming. All in all, fun to play with just because its such a challenge, but if it was the only gun I had to carry...well....I'd just trust in the honesty of my fellow man.

Ive had both the phoenix and the jennings. The phoenix had too many safetys for my liking and was problematic to get back together after cleaning. My jennings on the other hand was great for what it was. I could hit cans at 15 feet with it. Mine held 10 rounds but i only loaded 8 and never had a problem with jamming. I bought a taurus with the flip up barrel and it was nothing but trouble. Go figure. I think its like the fie titans out there it depends on when the gun was made. Early titans ive owned were excellent pocket guns for the early 80's. there just wasnt alot of mouseguns around then. Later titans were not only undependible but well junk.

If I had a Jennings, I'd sell it, but only because I don't have a conscience. If I were to take the moral high ground, I'd go to the lake and see if it floats.

I hope that's not urine in your Wheaties, but you did ask.

Sold one a few weeks back for $60 bucks. Oh well one man's trash is another man's treasure but I would not own one again by no means.

LOL I own one. :-\. I got it in a package deal basically for free. Shot it once, it went full auto then the firing pin broke. I proceeded to clean it got some of that black powder solvent cleaner on those pretty, fake pearl grips.... yeah they melted... oops learned my lesson there. But I have never put a new firing pin in it. It sits in my safe and never gets shot.

EDIT: Oh by the way it is an MP-25

My mother had a Jennings J-22 years ago and it was stolen from her house. (Fast forward). She gets a phone call from the Lavergne PD that they have the pistol. It was found by a guy in East Nashville in his sons room so he turned it into metro PD. Long story short, Lavergne PD had the pistol and she never got it back after multiple phone calls. In an officers pocket? :ugh: Who knows? I'm not a hater nor a gun snob.....if they are as bad as people portray them to be and you want to rid yourself of one, PM me as I wouldn't mind having one. Lets deal.
