New Surefire & VTAC on the AR...

I picked up this G2 LED and Vikings Tactical (VTAC) flashlight mount at Hero Gear over the weekend for well under $100 for the pair. Since the DD Omega rail I have is skinnier, the flashlight rests almost right up against the Grip Pod, which puts it in a perfect location for my left thumb to engage it. I couldn't have asked for a better fit. I am also surprised how securely the mount attaches to the rail, as well as how tight it holds the light. The real test will be to see how well it holds up after a few hundred rounds. I have read a lot of reviews on other sites and everyone had positive things to say about the mount. Anyways, I just wanted to share this inexpensive light set-up in case anyone is in the market for one. It should serve me well for an upcoming carbine class and also occasional HD duty.

I've got the same setup on my AR right now, and I'm about to go pick up another for my Saiga-12. You can't beat it for the price.
