My best 100 yard group, so far.....

I love the challenge at 100 yards. A little wind will really get you and crap ammo will also get you. This was with not such great ammo (Remington target) and I intend to shop for better ammo as this was a blast (pun intended) This was shot with a walmart MKII with a Tasco 6-24x power scope set at 18x. I also have the rifle on a bipod for a little extra support as I really do not like the idea of bench shooting personally. (sorry guys)

Well here is my best at 100 yards:

Great group, now for my ignorance, what is a Wal Mart MKII.

Just the cheapie.. no bull barrel . they are pretty accurate though for the money. Of course the fella pulling the trigger helps...LOL

If you are looking for good target grade ammo you HAVE to call or visit Champions Choice. They are right there in Lavergne. They have almost every type of .22 target grade ammo I have ever heard of including Lapua, Wolf (this is not the same as the centerfire crap), RWS, SK, etc. I think you will see a difference.

I think he means a Savage MKII.

Bingo.... Duh... Sorry about that I had posted this on a rimfirecentral.com forum in the Savage section as well.

They are still in my bag.. ok Got the ammo (Wolf extra and CCI standard, going to give them a try this weekend. ), thanks for the info on Champion, had no idea they were there and I pass them every day.

No problem. I'm anxious to hear your range report with the target ammo. I have a Savage of my own that I can't want to take to the range.

Good looking rifle... I really want to get a new stock but not sure If I want to pay the money for a SSS stock. Love the way they look. Anyone ever put one on a rifle without the bull barrel? I just ordered my new Tactical Knob for mine. It does not improve accuracy but should look really good... LOL

Luckily mine came with it. I want to add a better scope and a sling. Is the bolt arm threaded on yours?

Champion doesn't have a showroom, but you can pick up orders there, or ask someone at the pick up window to show you something. They also have a catalog and website.

Well I bit the bullet.. hahahah.. Ordered my Sharpshooter Supply Stock. Looks like it will be a pretty darn good setup. I also ordered my Tactical knob. The only thing left is the trigger. I have not decided if I will be getting a SSS trigger or another type. I will then start my next project rifle (Maybe a Savage 10FP or just a 10F, when I have finished. OOOPS, Will have to upgrade the scope too! I like having the 6-24x scope , this way at 100 yards I do not need a spotting scope. I really do not shoot it at 24X , I prefer 10X and 18X at the most.
