Papaw wants an appraisal of a shotgun. It's over 100 years old now. IT's a side-hammer 20 gauge, missing the hammer. It took my great-grandfather's first dear, too. He's a bit paranoid about the "and maybe they'll steal it", and I didn't have my camera, so there are no pictures. I don;t think he'll sell it, either, since he's worried about being ripped off. He just wants an appraisal. I may get pictures later.

I would say about $100.000 from the description you gave.:up:

I doubt that much.

Most of those old guns were made for black powder and wont stand up to modern loads. One missing parts is worth even less.

People have an idea that just because something is old it is worth money. It aint so, at least not in the gun world.
