Handgun Carry in parks / forests

Here is what I would like to see.

1) Does the list of prohibited weapons in Tennessee code 39-17-1302 (a) include a handgun.

2) If 1 is no, then does anything in Tennessee code 39-17-1311 prohibit the possession or carry of a handgun by a person with a valid Handgun Carry Permit?

3) Does any other statute in Tennessee code prohibit the carry of a handgun in places listed in Tennessee code 39-17-1311 (Public parks, playgrounds, civic centers and other public recreational buildings and grounds.).

4) If all are no, then Please report your findings to all Police and Sheriff's departments as currently departments are under the impression carry of a handgun by those with a valid handgun carry permit in places listed in Tennessee code 39-17-1311 is unlawfull.

It's going to take an AG ruling to get them to back off. I'm working on it before trying to get Ramsey or my Rep to ask for a ruling.

Been going through all the AG gun rulings since 2000. I count 30 of them.

We need to get our ducks in a row here rather than just contacting LE, who will just think we are nuts for telling them our interpretation of TCA. They don't know the law but think they do. It will take more than us as individuals to change their mind.

Bristol recently decided they did not need to post their parks because of their interpretation of TCA. Are the LEOs going to listen to us or to the city manager? BTW, there is already a ruling that cities can post. So all we are likely to do is make them put the signs back up even if we win.

What we need is a law that says they can not post in parks.
