ATI or Tapco stocks for the mini 14

I've been looking at the ATI and Tapco stocks for my mini 14. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with them? My concern is the quality of the product, ease of installation, and whether it adversely affects accuracy. Any insight from you fine folks, and some not so fine , would be helpful to my decision.

I don't know about a Mini 14 stock, but I just installed a ATI stock on my Hi-Point Carbine and love it. I took it to the range for the first time today with the new stock and it much improved! The Stock is quality made and and easy to install.

I have a Tapco Fusion stock on my Mini 14. I love it! I tried an ATI stocked Mini 14 at a gunshow and just didn't like the buttstock with the plastic "cheek rest" piece. It just felt flimsy to me. I also added a Holosight to mine. The combinatin works very well for me.

I too have a Hi Point carbine with the ATI stock on it. Very comfortable, and makes the Ugly Duckling look a lot better. One caution: The long 15 rd. Hi Point Mags don't work out of the box with the new stock. You have to remove the plastic shield from the bottom so they will lock up correctly.

Hi-Point doesn't make a 15 round mag for the carbine.

You must have another brand, probably ProMag.

That's quite possible, when the dealer sold them to me he said they were "High Point" mags, but I guess anyone could have manufactured them.

I have fired a friend's Mini-14 and Mini-30 , one with ATI and one with Tapco. I liked the Tapco better, but that is probably because I have a Tapco on my 10/22 and I am used to it.
