I drove the golf cart back and forth on the driveway and drank 4 Coor's Lights.

Does that count?

Mike, is this the golf cart you were referring to?

Mike's "other" ride.

good job TDR. Those miles will come easier and easier. Before you know it, you'll be running those miles.

Thanks!

Oh, it's gonna be a while. I'm 6'3 and about 475. I'm not sure I'll be up for running anytime in the near future.

Rightwinger would definitely know if I began and such venture.:D

I blame this whole HCP permit thing. I went and took a class & paid a lot of money, and waited for an hour at the DMV and damn, I've gained a couple of pounds - cause I'm carrying a gun now! HA! :D

TDR, you'll be surprised at how fast that excess weight will come off with healthy eating and excercise. I don't think that anyone will ever gain anything by "dieting". that is basically a way of saying "I'm going to drop weight, short term". The key is healthy, consistent meals and excercise. Basically, a lifestyle change. The weight will come off a lot slower when you get closer to an optimum weight, but I promise that if you stay motivated, and stick to a plan, a lot of it'll come off FAST. Good luck, TDR, we're all rooting for ya.

So true.

My metabolism didn't slow until about 23, but when it slowed, it SLOWED!

Unfortunately, over the past few years I've had to get used to changing my eating habits.

Through high school and college, any food introduced into my body had to meet at least 2 of 3 guide lines:

1.) Be Deep Fried

2.) Be Covered in Cheese

3.) Be topped w/ Bacon

And all those years I couldn't gain weight if I wanted to... Nowadays, it's a different story.

Overtime, my tastes have changed and I don't craved deep-fried cheesy bacony goodness as much. I try to stick w/ fresh meats and veggies, and limit sauces (you'd be surprised how many calories, carbs, and refined sugars are found in many condiments).

And since you'll be spending so much extra time excercising, I'll be available to babysit any firearms that are in your way.

LOL!

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

I walked another 1 1/2 miles today.

Why? strickj going to be chasing you around the bedroom more often?

Sorry! I couldn't resist. I was like waving a piece of chocolate cake in a fat kids face.:)

LMAO...nope

My fiancee is a complete ball of energy. It's all I can do to keep up with her. On top of that my Dr keeps "reinforcing" the importance of exercise.

btw TDR keep up the good work. My Dad has lost over 120lbs in the last year by changing his eating habits and walking every day. He could only walk about 1/4 mile without stopping back then.

I walked 2 miles today. I walked 1 mile at about 8:00 this morning, and another at about 4:00 this afternoon.

My neighbor and friend is nice enough to let me borrow her dog for the walks. He makes a great walking buddy.

That's great man!

For those of you who are using running or walking to get in shape a great way to stay motivated is to take place in some 5k fun run/walks.

Here is a great place to find out more...

Nashville Striders - Home

There are plenty in the middle TN area. :D

Good for you TripleDigit, you are truly encouraging me to get off my butt and start pulling my kids on the wagon a few times around the block.

That's a good idea.

I know it may sound silly, but walking around here by myself would make it much harder to do. But being able to take my friends dog along really makes it more enjoyable.

I plan on being out there for another mile in the morning. I cheated a bit and ate some leftover fajita stuff that my girlfriend brought home from the girls night out. I'll have to do an extra 1/2 lap.:D

I have been back on active duty for a couple of months. This mandatory PT five

days a week and the bugle calls 24/7 are driving me crazy.

On a good note I have lost 10 pounds. I am 6' and 188 lbs . I also quit smoking in

January and feel a lot better these days.
