I am looking for a scope that is going to perform well at 200 - 300 yards and I want to pay around $250 - $300 for said scope.

I am open to suggestions and i'd love to hear about scopes that hold zero and perform "reasonably" well.

I am not benchrest shooter and I am looking for something that will put the bullet in a fairly close spot to where I am aiming. 2-3 inches at 200 yards wouldn't bother me a bit.

I'm certainly no optics expert, nor do I demand sub-moa accuracy. I'm a hunter, so I "get by" I guess on what one might construe as a poor man's sniper budget! :(

All of my scoped long rifles have either Bushnell Banners or Nikon Pro-Staff. With them, I have consistently and accurately taken dozens of mule deer, whitetails and antelope at upwards of 400+ yards. And they are consistently accurate! They will cost closer to the $200 range.

Of course, then there is the Tasco World Class that gave me nearly 28 years of service with similar results. It even still sits on a 10/22!! And a new one even today can be had for less than $100.

My $0.02 :D

Go with Nikon or Leupold.

I currently have a simmons on my rem 700 .270 and like bronker said its pretty accurate for hunting. And I think i paid 150 for it.
