Sounds like a fluff and buff is in order. Polishing the feed ramp would probably sort this out. If you don't feel up to it, contact Kel-Tek, they are good about standing behind their products.

Recently I bought 2 brand new P-3ATs...neither one would function out of the box.

Sent them both off to KT.

One month later, I had 2 massively overhauled P-3ATs and a reimbursement check for my shipping.

I have yet to have a single malfunction, with either gun, since.

I polished my feed ramp with 400 grit sandpaper, and also smoothed the barrel itself. Then went over it all with emery cloth. Then oiled the rails and barrel. It works OK. But I did have to send it back years ago for a take-down pin that insisted on walking out.

Just had the same problems with a P32 (it's older brother) and it was a combination of two things. Open it up and check for wear spots and take some gun grease (or high temp wheel bearing grease) and spread it in the inside of the rails and on the wear spots. Then open the magazine and check the spring. Mine was three coils shorter then another one and twisted.

Quick call to Kel-tec and i had a new spring and problems where gone.

Feeds just like it was smeared with butter now.

Sling shot the slide when you chamber a round. Just about P3AT's I have seen will chamber when this is done. If you do it easy it will hang up. Try this and see how it works out for you.

Go ahead and do what the others have said as this helps too but it may not fix chambering the first round.
