Although I've heard zombie talk for the longest time, I guess I never got it. What is the etymology of "zombies" in gun culture? Just seems weird to me.

Zombies in gun culture represents the myriad of different SHTF scenarios. Saying that someone with a lot of guns is ready for the zombies is basically just saying they are ready for a SHTF event. Even zombies. :)

Well, OK. I guess I did get it then. I just though maybe there was a more specific definition or origin. Over thinking at 4 am will do that!

Zombies represent the complete and total breakdown. It's basically just a tongue-in-cheek way of saying I'm ready for a foreign invasion or a natural disaster.

I'm not ready for disasters or invasions... but I am ready for the zombie threat.

This is a new site to me... In Pa we have the PaZRT. (Zombie Response team) I am currently assigned to Sector 7 as a Recon/Sniper/Demolitions expert.

Thanks for the link, I will have to forward the link to my fellow ZRT members.

There's someone running around Hendersonville in a Jeep Cherokee that's been painted some form of desert tan, and has "Zombie Response Vehicle" or something like that stenciled on it, along with a star and insignia similar to military trucks. I'll try to get a picture if I see it again.
