I was going to take some 7.62x39 to the gun show in knoxville tomorrow for trade. Then it occurred to me this might not be "allowed." Any thoughts? I've got 1700 rounds I'd like to turn into a revolver, but I don't want to deal with the hassle of not being let in...anybody had any experience with this sorta thing? Thanks.

You can always sit out front and turn it into cash or whatever. Most people don't walk around with that much ammo. It's a weight thing.

Well, if that doesn't work, could wheel it around on two wheel dolly with a sign in the air attached ... THAT oughtta get some attention?

Anyway, don't see why anyone would gripe, plenty of folks walking around inside with guns and signs to sell/trade them.

BZZZZZTTTT, maybe nix that previous advice, just remembered there's sign of "no concealed carry, no loaded magazines, and no loose ammo". I'm pretty sure that's what it said.

So not sure if inside is okay, sorry....

I think you are okay with the ammo. I believe by loose ammo they mean the rounds that just came out of your carry guns chambers or magazine.

But I believe your best option would be to sit out front with a for sale sign and a fair price posted for the stuff.

I saw boxes of Wolf, 20 rounds per box for 9 and 10 dollars each. I cannot recall what 1000 in a box were going for.

Exactly. I'm not sure either. I did see a guy dragging around a cannon last time I went. 7.62 shouldn't be a problem!

I don't know....it might not be worth the hassle. I thought about just taking a box or two as representitive of what I have...find a gun I like and just make an offer. If it works out then I'll just walk outside and get it. This is assuming they'll let me bring it in. Surely somebody has taken ammo in...and don't call you shirley...

Thanks Mike. I would have expected more like $7 or so, but this is golden tiger.

Hey you wouldn't happen to know a Tom B from Conyers GA would ya? My bro-in-law bought a gun from him last week and he mentioned a fella that goes by Mike 357 on the forums. Thought it could be you...I facilitated the deal through TFL and we were playing the "you wouldn't happen to know so and so from TN" game.

I've also seen folks walk around the inside of the show with 8x11 paper stuck on their t-shirt stating what they're selling. That might help sell what you have got.
