Maybe try the Kimber Aegis II. 9mm compact.....Kimber logoed Crimson Traces are available to fit that handgun.......

I agree, after all the issues I had finding a gun for the wife, we ended up with one of those. She loves the 1911 feel but not the .45. This was the perfect compromise. Of course it isn't cheap.

NO recoil...or very little..

Light...

Those two descriptives are mutually exclusive. You can't have both. The weight buffers the recoil. If she wants a 9mm or bigger, consider Magnaporting. That will keep the muzzle flip to a minimum.

If she just wants something to plink with and get accustom to shooting I would suggest the Walther P22. My girls love theirs and there's no real felt recoil. My wife's is Pink with a Nickel slide.

If she is set on a 1911, check out the guide spring by "Dragon fire" It's a dual spring setup that buffers the final impact on the frame. I have it on my Colt CCO and it made a world of difference. The muzzle stays on target better and the pistol is a pleasure to shoot even with a 4.25" barrel.

How about a Daisy 880? Talk about little recoil! Seriously though, my wife surprised me when I took her to shoot a myriad of weapons to get her to choose the one she was most comfortable with. Out of a .22, .38, .40, and .45 - she chose the H&K USP in .45. Who would ever have guessed it...

For a lightweight easy recoiling pistol check out the P238. It is not a harsh gun to shoot and is relatively compact and light. The only caveat would be the bugs in some batches. I would wait a few months for the kinks to be worked out before purchasing one for carry.

Also Sig customer service made me supremely angry when I had to deal with them. Worse attitudes than the kids at mcdonalds.

Not a 1911 but it meets or exceeds the other requirements. FN Five-Seven super light, recoil of a 22lr, 1700 ftps muzzle velocity, accepts a laser/light, comes with 20 round mags that you can modify to accept 30 rounds. wanna shoot mine let me know.

Try a Karh PM9. It is small, light, little recoil, and can accept a laser. With last it will set you back between $750 -$850 thought. But hey....when it comes down to getting it done what is your life worth?

I second the Kahr. Spend a little more up front and be morely to not take a loss on a trade 30 days or so later. That, and if you want to personalize it and sexify it, Kahr's look REEEEDICULOUSE after Robar gets a hold of them...(in a good way).

The Kahr PM9, or the P380 are both good choices. You get a little more power with the PM9 but it is a little bigger. They both shoot like they are a lot bigger than they really are.

My wife loves my XD45. Would never carry it, but loves to shoot it. I'm not knocking the Kahr, but I have never had any luck with the PM9. Mine was sent back to the factory twice and they were real good about trying to fix the peening among other issues FTE's, FTF'S. Nice , but I'd rather she have her 642 that goes bang every time.
