WOW......a little wind was just taken out of my sail.....

If I am reading this right, Sec 403 says it is not effective untill 15 months after the date it is enacted.

SEC. 403. EFFECTIVE DATE.

This title and the amendments made by this title shall become effective 15 months after the date of enactment of this Act.

This will give states that wish to pass laws to prohibit or restrict carry in National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges, plenty of time to do so before it goes in to effect.

I know the credit card part was indeed over a year, heard commentary on that, so guess the park carry is too?

Yeah...not sure why the links aren't working..

Can start here THOMAS (Library of Congress) then > Bills, Resolutions (left column) > Search Bill Text > Browse by Bill Number > (Under House Bills) 601-700 > Scroll down to 619 and click H.R.632.ENR > (Sec 403 for Effective Date) or (Sec 512 for the part about National Parks and Wildlife Refuges)

But guess 15 months is the countdown on this one....

thats sucks... but hey... better then anything I ever thought we'd get out of this administration.

I don't get why the DOI didn't appeal the injunction in the first place; same bureaucracy that went to all the trouble to instigate the rule must still be in place pretty much.

Reckon O put the pressure on them not to do it?

Well carry in National Forrest is up to each state the way I understand it, I always here that TN has a law against carry in National Forrest, but I've not seen anything that specifically says that.

State rule of National Forests?

I never heard THAT.

National Parks = US Dept of Interior

National Wildlife Refuges = US Fish and Wildlife Service

National Forests = US Forest Service

I thought the state only controlled state parks and state Wildlife Management Areas.

Who the frig knows anymore.

All your base are belong to us. This stays confusing to me. I thought the National Forests were under the US Forest Service, as well, though. Its a lovely delaying tactic they played, though, especially if it takes fifteen months!

National Forests almost always follow state hunting laws. Almost all states have some animal in season year round. Here in TN you can hunt coyote with a pistol. Just wear your camo t-shirt and carry a varmint call and OPEN carry. :lol:

Which only allows you certain handguns you can carry due to barrel length, yes?

And you must have a hunting license with something in season to hunt, yes?

The NRA was given standing to appeal it by the judge that put the injunction in place. I guess she figured the administration wouldn't bother.

Why 15 months? The credit card portion of the bill goes into effect in 9 months.

Hmmmm...I didn't see that, where was that at?

I was going by Sec 403 of the bill that says it and all of the amendments to it would go into effect 15 months after it is enacted.

LOL...well I think I even saw 15 and 9 in the same document...so I no longer feel I need to comment on the effective date...lol

Hopefully it will be annonced by the NRA, NPS or someone on a Federal level.

This whole nine or fifteen month delay just tells me that this is all a bunch of BS anyway.

If congress wanted to help people with CC debt they would have wrote a law the fixed things today.

Same with carrying in national parks.

They want to say they are helping people, but they want to keep their hands in big bankings pockets.

Like I said it is a bunch of BS
