Heritage Arms .22 SA Opinions

Does anyone have any experience with the Heritage "Rough Rider" .22 Single action convertibles (.22 s, l, lr or magnum)? Regardless of the unfortunate name, Gander Mountain has a bunch of them for $199.95.

Don't think I would ever get one just wondering how they size up to a Ruger.

I have handled and shot one. I suppose it is worth 200 bucks if a Ruger SAS is worth near 400.

They have some funny safety thing on the frame. And the action was not as smooth as a Ruger. Fit and finish did not seem as nice as a Ruger either.

but for 200 bucks I suppose it would make a fair plinker.

if you feel a need to shoot a .22 revolver you can borrow mine anytime you want. I will bring it out next time we get together to shoot.

I only ask out of curiosity. Ruger makes the only SA .22 as far as I'm concerned.

Since Mother won't let me near her Bearcat, and like a fool I sold the Single-Six from my youth, been thinking might be nice to have something along those lines.

I have one, but I only paid $125 new - w/both cylinders.

It's worth what I paid for it, and a hoot to shoot, but doesn't compare to a Ruger.

I wouldn't pay 2 bills for one, though.
