How long do you wait?

Okay, here is the situation. I contacted someone about selling a gun to me, not one that they were necessarily going to sell, but the person said that they would consider it. Actually he said let me think about it. So the question is how long do I wait to ask again? Do I just wait and let him in his own good time? Or 3 days, 5, 1? What are your suggestions?

Me? I'd give him/her 3 or 4 days and then just "check" on the status of the decision. That does 2 things, 1 lets him know you are interested and 2 reminds him he has a buyer "on the hook".
