Need some reloading data...

I have a box of 1000 210 grain Lead cast semi wadcutter bullets. I'd like to reload them into .45 LC, using unique powder but I can't find load data for it.

Does anyone have load data for this load?

I've looked at the Unique website and THEY don't have it. I know the new lee reloaders manual would have it..so, can someone clue me in?

I found this load data in the Alliant manual online.

http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/RecipePrint.aspx?gtypeid=1&weight=200&shellid=36&bulletid=62&bdid=805

I would use the data for the 200grLSWC. You are going to have to back down the starting charge anyway, so just reduce it slightly more.

Hope this helps.

Mike

The powder charge weights listed in our data

tables are maximum. For rifle and pistol loads,

the maximum powder charge should be reduced

by 10% to establish a minimum or starting

powder charge.

Just use the data for the next heaviest bullet, you'll be fine using the data for a 230g bullet. When loading cast bullets it's wise to not start pushing maximum loads anyway.

I just loaded some 208 grain SWCs in 45 Colt with 8 grains of Unique. They shot great. They seemed a bit hard to eject, but the primers didn't flatten at all. I don't know what was up with that.

Good deal!

Thanks Greg.

These will definitely be plinking rounds..so I doubt I'll get the best accuracy out of them. the bullet weights seem to fluctuate between 206 grain all the way to 211 grain..I figure I can use a formula for a heavier bullet weight and I should be ok as long as I don't load them with the maximum load.

I may make a batch with your load as well and see how it fares.

I was loading .454 dia. bullets. They are for a rechambered 455 Smith and Wesson I have. I also understand that some of the very early Colt SAAs were .454 dia. bores as well. I imagine you should load .452 dia. bullets for any modern 45 Colt chambered handgun. I assume the powder charge shouldn't change, however.
