I just got my Colt Night Defender in and i was playing around with it and found out the grip safety(Palm safety) is not working. This gun has never been fired and won't be unless i just have to. But i was wondering if there is something quick and simple i can look at and fix or do i just to go ahead and send it back? I hate to send it back and wait forever if it is something easy. I was wondering if any 1911 guru's no a trick? Thanks in advance.

You can cock the hammer and with your hand off the grip and pull the trigger it will dry fire. If i cock it and push up on the palm safety towards the dove tail it will work. It almost like a spring is not tight enough or something.
